I'll try to locate them soon. Meanwhile, here's a combination shot of the
1100 publicity picture and the 8000 from the museum, showing what I described in
the earlier post about the tube audio which was changed prior to

<DIV>It was a 2 inch helical scan machine the size of a VR-1100. I believe it
was shown at the 1961 show. The machine is promoted in the October
1961 issue of Ampex Head Lines. It used a single head and what looks like
he same wrap as a type C or A format.</DIV>
