<div>I'm hoping that someone in this group, in addition to knowledge and manuals relating to 2 inch tape will have stored away somewhere a manual for the RCA BQ-2 turntable. I have one of these that I am in the process of restoring and I am looking for information for adjusting the internal linkages between the speed and motor controls. </div>
<div> The BQ-2 was the last of the RCA 16-inch console turntables. This was an idler driven unit, not to be confused with the famous 70 series gear/planetary drive turntables. The BQ-2 came out in the early 50s and was sold both in the console and as a drop in mechanism. There was also a 12-inch version, the BQ-1, and information on that unit may be applicable to the 16-inch turntables. Information on the 70 series, 70A through 70-E/F is widely available on the Internet from several sources, but very little detailed information on the BQ- turntables. I have catalog pages and articles from RCA Broadcast News, but nothing on lubrication, adjustments, etc. in the form of a manual. </div>
<div> There were three series of the BQ-2, A, B, and C. There seems to be little practical difference between them. I believe the distinctions were that the A had neoprene idlers, the B used a different idler material, and the C was the same as the B except the cabinet color scheme was changed from light and dark umber to 'New Look' RCA blue.</div>
<div> Any help would be appreciated as I am working on building a retro RCA audio control room based on period equipment from that early 50s era. I will be glad to pay any costs involved in copying, mailing, etc. I can scan a manual and return it if that works.</div>
<div> Thanks for any help you can give</div>
