<div>I'm happy to find this site and some folks who have an appreciation for the engineering that went into the development of early video tape recorders. Hard to imaging it could be done without the use of PCs. </div>

</div>
<div>I cut my teeth on AVR-1, 2, 3 VTRs, an HS-100 B & C and a TPR-10 tossed in for good measure. I still have the TPR-10 and it makes pictures just fine. Unfortunately it spent too much time in a damp basement somewhere and the books and some parts are a
bit moldy. None the less, nice piece of history.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>
<div>Anyway, I had the pleasure of working on a VR-2000 today for a customer. Sitting next to it was a VR-1200 and in the warehouse was a 'spare' VR-2000 in case I needed parts. (8 new CMC Mark 10 heads on the shelf ! ). Reel servo is a bit sloppy, the auto/manual
tip doesn't function and I had a lot of problems with the Colortek. Did some board swapping but still had a significant Colortek error. There are other problems but for the most part, the machines seem to work reasonably well and could be repaired.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>I'd like to do some troubleshooting but don't have any books for the VR-2000 or VR-1200. Are there any resources on-line I might be able to use or perhaps a place where I might find manuals and documentations? </div>
</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>As an alternative to refurbishing this VR-2000, I thought I might be able to replace it with an AVR-2 or 3. Like the books, I can't seem to locate any of these machines for sale, anywhere. What happened to them all? They've got to be around somewhere.
