The Houston truck had the brown. It later served for years and years as the WTMJ-TV mobile unit at County Stadium and the downtown arena (before Bradley Center). Worked on that when WSNS-TV 44 would use it for White Sox games.
As I remember the story from Ridge Radney, the Norelco Sales Rep was fired when MCI said "we'll take 2 units". Norelco lost $$$ on the deal. Not sure if MCI ever made money with them either. Used the big truck as a control room for the Westpark Dr studio (cables running through a hole in the wall). Couldn't shut the studio down day before/day after a remote, so did College hoops from a Winnebago with John Crowe directing. I was Don Clagett's part-time V-2/trainee. $3.00 per hour.
Other pic is the 2 Travco's that went to San Juan and Bill Frieberger's legendary Blue Bird bus.

From: quadlist-request@quadvideotapegroup.com
To: quadlist@quadvideotapegroup.com
Sent: Friday, November 9, 2012 10:02:22 AM
Subject: QuadList Digest, Vol 53, Issue 36

Send QuadList mailing list submissions to
quadlist@quadvideotapegroup.com

To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit
http://mail.quadvideotapegroup.com/mailman/listinfo/quadlist_quadvideotapegroup.com

or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to
quadlist-request@quadvideotapegroup.com

You can reach the person managing the list at
quadlist-owner@quadvideotapegroup.com

When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific
than "Re: Contents of QuadList digest..."

This is the Digest of the QuadList.
