I went to one and all four heads in the ACRs were down below a half mil. No one could figure out why the dropouts were so bad. </div><div><br></div><div>VR 1200 Lock up times were terrible. After a few hours on each machine they looked a lot better. Still could not break the habit of some operators of using H lock mode.</div><div><br></div><div>I also found that a number of folks had no idea about standards and operations to make them look good. color:#1F497D">Totally agree. Automatic/Pixlock using external sync and
burst for output processing will produce the best results. If you are
concerned about the horizontal position, then the 4/8 field lock should be used
to sort of color frame the output. Lock up time is not important for
making dubs and digital capture. When I first worked at a station, we ran
all machines in H lock, so a station break consisted of 2-3 spots rolling from
net to spot to spot to spot to slide to net. My guess some people at home
never saw a locked picture on their slow sets until we went back to the
net. So a couple of us worked hard to get all machines to auto lock and
our breaks were vastly improved. It was interesting to think many of
these machines actually got better than when they were initially purchased due
to the modifications and service by the local techs.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
