This was implemented by PBS to send four channels of audio. Of course, outboard encoders and decoders were needed.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'>The other was called ‘Sound in Sync’ and put a burst of digital data on the horizontal sync tip. Some machines didn’t like it too well and a variation was used where the data was put on the ‘front porch’ of the horizontal sync interval.
