<P>It could be the ready relay in the transport control chassis, or possibly the time-delay circuit.</P>

<P>That is my first impression.</P>

<P>I may have a spare transport control and panel schemetic.</P>

<P>I am sure there are several spare transport control chassis here if you find you need a part.</P>

<DIV>Has anybody ever seen on a 2000 were if you play a tape all the way to the end, the 2000's head and capstan motor won't shut off? </DIV>

<DIV>IF I start the machine cold, I can thread a tape and hit play and stop and all works fine. </DIV>

<DIV>After about 10 minutes, the head motor and capstan won't turn off short of killing the main switch. </DIV>

<DIV>I have the READY switch taped off, so it's not that. </DIV>

<DIV>If I turn on the ready switch, the head goes slightly faster so something is leaking. </DIV>

<DIV>Was wondering if it could be one of the relays behind the control panel hanging on, but don't have the schematics for that circuit. </DIV>
