<DIV><FONT size=3>Bill can certainly address this more completely than I can,
but the TBC-790 only uses some of the AVR-1 design. Probably 70% of it is
different. The 790 was also soon replaced with the digital TBC-800, and
when used with the 7900 or the console version 7950, they became VPR-7900A or
VPR-7950A models.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>I saw the front extrusion and knew that it was the same as the VR-7800
and VR-7900 plus the AVR-2. This style was also used by the audio
people. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I was under the impression that it was a quad so that is why I went to
the AVR. I wonder how they were able to keep the cost down using the
AVR-1 TBC design rather than another type. This would be a question for
Bill Carpenter. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I always was under the impression that the AVR-1 buffer was way too
costly to manufacture. That is why the ACR-25 went to the B model that
had a digital TBC. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I await for the comments.</DIV>
