<DIV>The screening of the Lesley Gore/The Beach Boys/The Beatles 1964 closed
circuit program went very well and was received enthusiastically by the crowd,
which appeared to be a "who's who" of archivists, producers, and those who had
not even been born when the program first appeared in theaters. On one of the
showings, the lady sitting next to me had actually attended the original
closed circuit broadcast in '64 and had brought her daughter Friday night to
enjoy the same program from 47 years ago. Even the 11:00 P.M. show had a
lively audience, considering that the program did not end until somewhere
around 1:00 A.M.! Organizers Domenic Priore, Alan Boyd, and Ron Furmanek put
on an excellent presentation including bonus material (vintage rock & roll
videotape of the same era). I have not seen the total attendance figures nor
the income generated during this not-for-profit program, but all indications
are that it met or exceeded everyone' expectations.</DIV>

<DIV>During the short group discussion and comments on stage, I heard some
gasps from the crowd (especially from the 11:00 P.M. gathering) when I held up
a sample reel of Scotch 379 2" quad videotape, the same stock used for the
recordings some 47 years ago. Many in the audience had no idea what technology
(now obsolete) was involved to record and preserve these performances,
especially when you take into consideration that video tape wasn't even 8
years old in 1964.</DIV>

what happened. The BEATLES portion of the show, on the giant screen, from the
crisp digital transfer of the 2" video, with REALISTIC SOUND LEVELS so for the
first time we could hear what it was actually like at a Beatles concert. Yes,
it was true concert volume. In fact, it was pretty much a religious experience
for all who attended."</SPAN></DIV>
