<DIV>I remember the debut of this machine at the 1979 SMPTE Winter
Conference. It created quite a stir. I may have the pictures I took
at that time. Bill was standing next to the machine in one of the
pictures. </DIV>

<DIV>I miss those winter conferences at the Saint Francis. It was a good
excuse to leave the Great Lakes and do some skiing at Tahoe plus
attend the conference. I attended enough of these that I no longer needed
a map in either Tahoe or San Francisco.</DIV>

the type C heads was done for the elimination of velocity errors. I had
long lost memories of the reasons and this brought it back.</DIV>
