Computer Image had done some Levitz spots and they were so impressed with the effects<div>they wanted "one of those" of their own.  CI was selling these things for a megabuck at the time. </div><div>Levitz quickly figured out it was the animator's genius  that made the effects, NOT just the hardware, and gave up on trying to make their own.</div>
