<DIV>Well here is a monkey wrench in to the issue. The tape signal may be
the same but because the quad used an ANALOG TBC with a bandwidth of 6 MHz,
it has a better look to it. Sorry to say but the early TBC's used by some
type C were not that great and it showed. The filters used to prevent
aliasing are bandwidth limiting and thus there is a very slight
difference. The AVR 2 did have some of the same issues and you had to
every now and then put a ramp through he machine to keep the process
linear.</DIV>
