<html><head><style type="text/css"><!-- DIV {margin:0px;} --></style></head><body><div style="font-family:times new roman,new york,times,serif;font-size:12pt"><div>Hi Park,<br>I just read this group, and remembered that I came from designing the helical editor on the VR-7800, and then moving into Product Management, designing and showing a two M/C backspace editor @ NAB, being talked out of marketing it by RWC, and then moving to California. <br>Note: This backspace editor predated the U-matic products by many years!!!<br><br>Then, I found out that NOBODY used "assemble editig" on Quads, since you switched from a control track locked playback to a random reference generator at the recording point!<br>In 1967, on the VR-7800, we used a mutli-tooth tach on the capstan, and compared it to the control track and locked to the closest pulse which caused a very good, clean move into recoded portion of Assemble edit. I could build edits all day. never a

There was a case on the news in the past couple years where some pet shop owner had such an agreement with his employees. One of them quit and was dog walking within a few blocks, the pet business
