Actually, it is an academic question since I plan to restore my machine to
original specs. For my purposes installing a modern TBC would be like dropping
a chevy automatic into a 1949 MG; effective, but kind of missing the point of

The AVR1 used to be able to play back a lot of substandard tapes which would
not lock on a 1200 or 2000. But an AVR-1 is an immense beast and both use
custom IC’s and other unobtainium parts, <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
