keep an eye out for the new telemovie "HAWKE" about australian prime minister Bob Hawke, it will air on network ten (australia) in july
(not sure if it will be seen overseas)

I worked on this film as a consultant for the "period" media crew scenes, and supplied much of the equipment from my collection.

We had trouble finding some of the period "correct" gear, namely the film cameras for the early 80's, late 70's scenes - or indeed..even a TK76 which would have been common at the time

The best i had were the ikegamis HL77 and 79's and others, unfortunately in many ways you can only do what you can do with getting historic scenes
"correct" as so many things change or are not apparent are wrong until later!

  Australia- speaking of which

I would have to agree it was nice to see all the old gear, only problem was the exteriors in Sydney were shot using old gear, but with new buildings in the background.

And now for something totally different:

Just ran across the Western Australia TV History site, and this page:
    http://watvhistory.com/2009/03/peter-croft-evolution-of-transmission-facilities/

which has a lot of Quad pix and a good story to tell.

About a third of the way down, you'll see a delay system with tube TRT machine feeding tape over to a TR-3? for playback.

Ampex ACR-25's are present... along with other Ampex and RCA Quads.

What's interesting is that Type C BVH-2000P's replaced many of the Quads, but they were using Bosch BCN B-format machines for time zone delay.

Scroll all the way town for a collection of pix with a lot of quads to be seen, and an HS-200 disc recorder.

It shows that Quad was still being used in 1992... via the ACR-25's, and there's a C/U of the head assembly and vacuum columns on an AVR-1 in 1996.

This collection is also on Flicker:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/watvhistory/3365509644/ shows the VT area... with a pair of TR-60s opposite AVR-1's.

    Have fun!
